That’s a bold statement above, but I’d like to save you some money. The truth is that when you buy a Facebook Ads course it will be obsolete in less than a month.
That’s the truth. Facebook changes their interface and feature set on average every 3.5 weeks. As I write this, Facebook just changed how you can respond to posts. Facebook is constantly tweaking and no Facebook Ads course can keep us with this.
So, you buy a Facebook Ad course, use the strategy and tactics explained in it, and BOOM, Facebook changes and your strategy and tactics are outdated.
If Facebook ad courses are a waste of money (and they pretty much are). what’s the answer? The answer is that you need to keep up with the changes to FB ads yourself and this is not as hard as you think. Here’s why:
- If you are using FB ads, Facebook is going to let you know of changes. Pay attention to these notifications and adjust your strategy accordingly. This is the lastest change that Facebook has noted on their site (look at this after finishing this post): http://www.facebook.com/business/news/facebook-campaign-structure-updates
In this notification is some helpful information under “Best Practices.” Facebook wants to to succeed because your success means you’ll be buying more ads with them.
2. If you google “facebook ad changes” you will come up with a number of links that will take you to sites that deal with different changes that Facebook has made over the months. These can be helpful also. One source that is especially helpful is Social Media Examiner. When you are on their list you will get lots of helpful information sent to you on a regular basis.
So, the moral of the story is this: don’t buy Facebook Ads courses. Do keep up with the changes that Facebook is regularly making that will affect your advertising.
As always, I welcome your comments.
