What are your business goals for 2019? I hope you’ve set some because as you probably know, if you aim at nothing you’ll hit your target every time. It’s easy to dream, but without goals you aren’t likely to achieve much. So, let’s set some achievable goals for 2019.
Your first step to success in 2019 is to reflect on where you are right now. I’ve created a free resource to help you with this. Click here for it.
Have you started a business? If so, are your profitable? If not, why not? Face into the problems of your business (or non-business) and resolve to fix them. If you don’t know
Your second step to success in 2019 is to create an action plan that will turn your business profitable in the next three months. If you will plan for profits in the first quarter of the year, you can build out your business for growth for the remainder of the year. What can you do to make your business profitable by the end of March?
Make SMART goals for this: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. If you’d like some more info on SMART goals, come back here next week when I’ll have a new post up about SMART goals!
Goal-setting is the best way to insure that the work you do is directed at the bulls-eye, whatever that is for you. I’ve given you a benchmark for your business – achieve profits in three months. That goal is specific, measurable, achievable (with the right plan), relevant (you do want to earn some money, don’t you?), and time-bound. How will you get there?
Your third step is to map out the work that you will need to accomplish to achieve your goals. What do you need to do to turn a profit by the end of March? What other goals have you set for 2019?
Mind mapping can be a powerful tool for unlocking your creativity and helping to get clarity on the steps to take to accomplish your goals. I cover mind mapping here.
